Note that NFS no longer provides financial planning services.
Can I speak to someone over the phone to discuss my options?
Absolutely, if you
would prefer to discuss your situation before completing a fact find please call
us on 1300 304 964 and ask to speak to an adviser.
After the initial plan fee are there any other fees and charges?
We do not charge to
implement the recommendations that are contained in your Statement of Advice.
This means that any investments or superannuation rollovers etc will not have
any initial entry fee. Where boutique investments are recommended we will
provide cash rebates on some of these to ensure that you do not pay any fees to
implement.
Ongoing fees will
apply and these will typically be 0.50% of the funds that we are providing
advice on. For this fee you will receive ongoing management service and advice. Our service
standards are detailed in your Statement of Advice.
How do I know if I will receive appropriate advice?
This is probably
the most common question, just because we do not meet with you face to face this
does not mean that we cannot give you advice. It is all about us getting to know
you, your financial and personal position, your risk profile and your long term
goals and ambitions. Once these are determined we can provide you with personal
advice.
We are bound by the
Corporations Act and the Financial Planning Association Code of Ethics when
providing you with advice. Every comprehensive plan is individually written and
provided in plain English.
We provide a money
back guarantee to clients. If you believe that our recommendations are not
appropriate to your circumstances with just cause we will refund the plan fee
that has been charged. If you are not happy with our advice we are a member of the Financial Industry Complaints Scheme, this is a
free service for you.
How are your fees compared to other Companies?
Compared to other
companies our fees are low. Other advisers will typically charge a plan fee, and when you want to
implement the recommendations an entry fee is charge on investments (usually
1.0-2.0%). The plan fee will usually be close to the fee that we charge
($1,200).
Our fees are lower
simply because you help us complete the plan. You complete the data information
that we require. This saves on average 3 meetings that are required, and
therefore you are not charged for this time. Overall this means we our costs are
lower, and we pass this saving onto you. You still receive the full personal
service of our face-to-face clients.
Do you provide sample plans?
No we do not
provide sample plans for a couple of reasons. Firstly everyone's circumstances
are different and what is contained in a sample plan most likely will be
inappropriate for you. Secondly our plans are our intellectual property and only
available for our clients.
What strategies will you examine?
We will examine
whatever strategies suit your circumstances, or whatever strategies you wish us
to examine. Whether this be borrowing for investment, lump sum investment,
superannuation and retirement preparation or retirement structures.
Are you members of the Financial Planning Association?
Yes, we are
principal members of the FPA.
When do I have to pay for a plan?
We will never
charge you a fee without obtaining your prior consent. In the planning process
there is no fee or charge until we have examined your personal situation to see
if a plan is appropriate. We ask that our Terms of Engagement is signed before
we commence work on your plan. This document will detail your plan fee.
50% payment of the plan fee is returned with the Terms of Engagement, and the
balance payable on presentation of the plan.
What is the process if I wish to proceed?
This is fully
explained in the start your plan section
here.
Can we meet face to face?
Yes we can, however
the plan fee when face to face meetings are conducted is $3,200. This is only an
option for Melbourne residents.
